The FA National Play Safe Campaign not just for one weekend

It's all the time

On the weekend of the 1st - 2nd of October PLAY SAFE WEEKEND returned.

Play Safe is football’s national campaign to focus attention on the vital importance of safeguarding in our national game.
The campaign is officially supported by the NSPCC as well as the Premier League, EFL, Barclays Women’s Super League and Barclays Women’s Championship. It’s also being backed by every other level of the game across England.

This year’s focus remains on the key role of parents/carers in safeguarding, with two main messages being conveyed:
• Are you aware of the vital safeguarding role you play in football?
• Please take the new, short and free safeguarding course specifically developed for parents/carers.

In the below video, recorded specially for The FA Play Safe Weekend, we’re sharing an incredibly open and frank conversation from three survivors of childhood sexual abuse in football.

This is a conversation that everyone involved in football should hear and we ask that you share this recording with all parents and carers.

Let's hope we can prevent this from happening ever again.

10th Anniversary Presentation Day 2022

On the 18th of June, we celebrated the club's 10th Presentation Day. With 236 trophies to award it was not going to be an easy task.

The event started with queues for the food, drink and face painting. The children decided it would be good fun to have a game of football against any of the managers and coaches that were brave enough to take up the challenge. Numbers wise I think the kids had the adults well outnumbered. After the game, most of the adults wished they hadn't risked their lives playing.

Every player was presented with a trophy for being a member of our great club. This was followed by team trophies. Managers player, parents player, players player, most improved and some special awards.

Roxy, Gary and Dave were given gifts for starting and organising the club over the last ten (long) years.

The afternoon finished up with the raffle draw with some great donated prizes.

The Committee would like to thank everyone that attended the presentation day event.

10th Anniversary charity match

A great afternoon of fun and football. The game was played not only to celebrate ten years of Townmead Youth & Men's Football Clubs it was played to raise funds to help send a young girl to Austria for much-needed medical support.

The two teams were made up of players from the men's team, our youth managers, coaches and some invited guests. The two teams were drawn out of the hat.

I spoke with Aleigha a few minutes into the game and her prediction was correct. She said the blues would win.
All proceeds were donated to Aliegha's fund.

We made it into a local newspaper. The Hillingdon Herald visited the club on a training Saturday Morning to take a walk around the club and talk to staff, parents and players. On leaving the club they said they had a great time seeing what the club are doing for the local children.

Presentation Day 2021

Hello all,

The Committee would like to thank everyone that braved the weather and attended the presentation event. For us, it was a success to be able to see you all there and to present the children with their trophies. It looked like you all had fun playing the games or watching the children take part.

The club will remain open for anyone wanting to train throughout the summer holidays. Please check with your manager though to ensure your team will be training each week as I know some managers will be away some of the time.

Thank you,

TYFC Committee

Flooding

This past weekend (3rd/4th October 2020) games and training were cancelled at the club. This was due to heavy rain causing the river Colne to burst its banks flooding the field. We are waiting to see if the club will remain closed this coming weekend (10th/11th October 2020). We may either call off training or relocate, the managers of the teams will let you know later this week, with any changes.

Sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused you but unfortunately, we can't control the weather. Thank you for your patience we hope you stay safe and see you at training.
